Retail Theft Charges Filed

Charges of retail theft have been filed against 26-year-old McConnellsburg resident Josiah Aaron DeShong by state police. DeShong allegedly left the Sheetz convenience store in Mc- Connellsburg without paying for $13.92 in store merchandise. Charges were filed through Magisterial District Judge Carol Jean Johnson.

Mailbox Struck

A mailbox along Route 522 near the intersection of Barmont Road was struck by an automobile on Thursday, August 6, according to state police. Hustontown resident Frances R. Barnhart was travelling north at 3:39 a.m. and overcompensated while rounding a turn in the Todd Township roadway. Barnhart's 2006 Mercury Monterey struck the mailbox, leaving Barnhart, 69, with minor injuries to her right arm. She will be charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

DUI Arrest

State police, McConnellsburg, arrested 43-year-old David W. Cisney of Shade Gap for driving under the influence after he failed to stop at a stop sign along Grist Mill Road in Burnt Cabins on Sunday, August 9, at 12:52 a.m.

Furniture Missing

State police were contacted recently regarding furniture that was taken from a rental property located at 657 East Maple Street, McConnellsburg. The complainant told investigators the door to the rental home was open and the house was abandoned on July 28 at 10:54 a.m. The victim has been unable to make contact with the renters. Teens Accused Of Theft

Two McConnellsburg teens will be cited for theft after a bicycle went missing from 675 Buchanan Trail in Ayr Township at 4 a.m. on Friday, August 7. The 13-year-old and 15-year-old boys allegedly stole a 20-inch Next Rampage Hardtail bicycle belonging to a 43-year-old Mc- Connellsburg man. The bicycle was copper-colored and had a serial number of CSO70684343.

Money Stolen

Approximately $260 was stolen from 44 Hillside Estates, McConnellsburg, between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 6. The victim was a 43-yearold McConnellsburg man. Bt. Cabins Man Accused Of Indecent Exposure

Fifty-nine-year-old Charles Arthur Chambers of Burnt Cabins faces charges of indecent exposure after he allegedly exposed himself to a 49-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, both from Burnt Cabins. According to state police, Chambers walked naked onto the porch of his home located at 436 Grist Mill Road on Wednesday, August 5, at 9:21 p.m. At the time, the victims were on their porch across the street.

Cat Shot, Alligator Missing

A gray cat with white spots was shot between 8 p.m. on August 2 and 4:49 p.m. on August 3 at 3862 Pleasant Ridge Road, Needmore. The cat's owner, a 22- year-old Needmore man, also told state police during the same time frame his green alligator went missing. The alligator is reportedly 1-1/2 feet long. Car Strikes Tree

An Orbisonia woman escaped injury when her southbound 1994 Plymouth Duster struck a tree along Route 655 in Licking Creek Township. Elizabeth A. Dennison was wearing a seat belt when she lost control of her car on Monday, August 3, at 5:54 p.m. Dennison, 33, will be charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic.

SUV Rear-Ended

A westbound 1989 Chevrolet Blazer waiting to turn left from Lincoln Way West was rear ended by a 1990 Ford F-150 on Tuesday, August 4. According to state police, Latosha M. Sipes, 20, of McConnellsburg complained of neck pain after her vehicle was struck but refused to be transported to the hospital. Latosha Sipes was wearing a seat belt as was fellow driver Bryan J. Sipes, 18, McConnellsburg, and his 16- year-old male passenger. Bryan Sipes will be cited for careless driving as a result of the 6:16 p.m. crash in the McConnellsburg Borough just east of Crystal Drive.

Verbal Dispute Leads To Charges

A verbal altercation at 702 Cito Road, McConnellsburg, turned physical on Friday, August 7, state police reported. Richard Chafardon, 51, of Mc- Connellsburg, allegedly grabbed a 20-year-old male, also from Mc- Connellsburg, by the throat at 6:01 p.m. Charges of harassment will be filed against Chafardon through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.

Harassment Charges To Be Filed

Harassment charges are slated to be filed against Walter Edwin Branche of McConnellsburg in conjunction with a verbal confrontation at a location along Heritage Drive in Ayr Township. On Saturday, August 8, at 4:40 p.m., Branche, 52, allegedly grabbed a 40-year-old Chambersburg man by the shirt during the argument. Branche will be charged through Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott.

Truck Strikes Trees, Driver Injured

A Harrisonville man sustained minor injuries when his northbound 2006 Dodge truck struck several trees along Route 655 in Licking Creek Township on Saturday, August 8. Twentyeight year-old Jerry Lee Russell was travelling northbound when the crash occurred at 8:30 p.m. His passenger, Lloyd N. Russell, 65, of Needmore, escaped harm and was also wearing a seat belt. Their truck was removed from the accident scene by Bard's Towing.

Huntingdon State Police Make DUI Arrest

State police in Huntingdon recently arrested a Burnt Cabins man for driving under the influence following a traffic violation in Shirley Township. Thirty-twoyear old Jeremy R. Hall was pulled over along Route 747 not far from Singers Gap Road on Friday, August 7, at 1:20 a.m. Hall allegedly smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests conducted on the scene. He was then transported to J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital for further blood alcohol content testing.
