Emma M. Keefer


Emma May "Granny" Keefer, 97, Needmore, died Sunday, August 2, 2009, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg.

Born June 15, 1912, in Big Cove Tannery, she was the daughter of the late George and Cora Shaw Lynch and the widow of Marshall Keefer, who died in 1963.

She was a member of Damascus Christian Church, a homemaker and she was much loved by all who knew her.

Surviving are a daughter, Gloria Jean Shives, Mercersburg; two sons: George "Bud" Keefer, Paul E. Keefer, both of Needmore; a brother, Reed Lynch, Mc- Connellsburg; eight grandchildren: John Keefer, Mitzi Carbaugh, Melissa Harvey, Darce Hines, Sharon Mellott, Teresa Shives, Carol Jena Grove and Donald Keefer; eight greatgrandchildren: Sarah Keefer, Jessica Large, Valerie Large, Lindsay Wood, Miranda Mellott, Carrie Mellott, Emma Grove and Cooper Grove, Nicklas Harvey nd Emily Harvey; and greatgreat grandchildren: Reese Mellott, Elijah Strait, Austin Large, Ashley Wood, Dylan Wood and Calie Large.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Keefer; three sisters: Helen Waltz, Mary Truax, Betty Everetts; and three brothers; John, Willard and Charles Lynch.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 6, at 11:00 a.m., at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock. Rev. Loy Garber will officiate. Burial will be in Antioch Christian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Grove Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 5, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
