Guy F. Clugston
Born January 23, 1922, in Fulton County, he was a son of the late Edward and Edith Frances Cooper Clugston.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served in WWII and the Korean War. He retired in 1974 from Letterkenny Army Depot where he worked in finance and accounting.
He was last employed by Rosenberry's Abattoir in Chambersburg.
He was a member of numerous community organizations including: George Washington Lodge #143 F& AM, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Valley Forest #95, Shriner's of North America, Knights Templar, the Scottish Rite Club, Letterkenny Rod and Gun Club, B.P.O. Elks #600, Hume-McNeil-Byers AMVETS Post 224, the Mercersburg Sportsman's Club, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #842, Fraternal Order of Police of Pennsylvania, Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, and the Marine Corps League.
He was a 50-year member of Dietrich-Brechbill Post 612 American Legion in St. Thomas prior to transferring to Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion in Chambersburg in 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Lea Offutt; a daughter, Connie Perkins of Winthrop, Ariz.; two men whom Guy considered to be sons: Gary Rosenberry of Fannettsburg, and Marc Anthony Cerri of Yorktown, Va.; and nieces and nephews: Nicole Hier of Germany; Logan, Jordan, and Tucker Offutt of McConnellsburg; Stephanie Offutt and McKenzie McFarland of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Leah and Paul Wilson of Mercer, Pa.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy E. Cromwell Clugsto, n on February 24, 1985; two brothers: Herb and Paul; and two sisters: Mildred and Rosemary.
A date and time for Guy's memorial service will be announced later. Interment will be private.
