MHS Fall Sports Practice McConnellsburg High School 2009 fall sports practice times for August 17-21 are as follows: volleyball - varsity/ junior varsity, Monday-Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., high school gym. Any questions call coach Heidi Johnston at 816-1964; jr. high, Tues., August 18 and Thurs., August 20, noon to 2:00 p.m. in the elementary gym. Any questions call coach Kathy Kendall at 485-0221; boys soccer - varsity/junior varsity, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at high school soccer field; jr. high - Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Any questions call coach McKelvey at 485-5665 or coach Kendall at 485-0221; girls soccer - varsity, Monday to Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the high school soccer field. Any questions call coach McGarvey at 485-4236 or 860-4527. This is the beginning of mandatory practice. Athletes should have their signed and completed physical forms ready for their coaches on the first day of practice.

Soccer Official's Clinic A soccer official's clinic will be held Thursday, August 20, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at McConnellsburg High School. The clinic will be held by Ed Gotwals for anyone age 18 years old or older interested in becoming a PIAA soccer official and all current soccer officials. No fee. Car Seat Safety Checks Car seat safety checks will be held Tuesday, August 18 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m, at the Fulton County Fair main gate. Receive $1 off single faira dmission for each seat checked. More information may be obtained by calling 485-5038. Sponsored by Safe Kids of Fulton County.

Free Computer Classes Free computer classes will be offered Thursday, August 27, at Fulton County Library: MS Word from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.; MS Excel from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; and Building Webpages from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please call or stop in the library to sign up for any of these classes.

House Tour The Fulton County Historical Society is currently planning for its annual Fulton Fall Folk Festival House Tour. Each year houses with historical significance, popular appeal or ones displaying unique living areas are showcased on Saturday and Sunday afternoons of the festival. Because the house tour committee would like to represent all areas of the county, they are now searching for homes in southern Fulton County. Free School Supplies Free school supplies will be available Thursday, August 20, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Further information may be obtained by calling Sister Margie at 485- 5917.

Library Fundraisers Fulton County Library fundraisers have been extended to August 31. A child can lend a hand in decorating the newly renovated library by placing his or her handprint and name on a sixinch square ceramic tile to be displayed in appropriate locations at the library. Cost is a suggested $15 donation. Be a part of the library by inscribing name or names of a loved one on a brick paver to be placed in the patio area at the front entrance. A contribution of $50 purchases a paver. Application forms may be obtained at the library at 485-5327.
