Bernard W. Shaw
Born March 10, 1934 in Thompson Township, Pa., he was the son of the late William Edward and Ethel Regina Roberta Fisher Shaw.
He was retired in 1994 from Glatfelter Pulpwood, in Hancock, Md. He previously owned and operated Shaw's Custom Backhoe Service.
He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his family and friends.
He was a life member of St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, Hancock, Md.
He is survived by his loving wife, Violet A. Hull Shaw whom he married March 10, 1953 in Big Pool, Md., two sons, William R. Shaw, Craig E. Shaw and wife Becky, all of Needmore, one sister Nanette Malarkey of Downey, Ca., one brother, James E. Shaw and wife Jane of Needmore, three grandchildren, William R. Shaw II, Jennifer L. Shaw and Rachel Shaw of Needmore, two greatgrandsons, Payten Wayne Price and Ean Jacob Shaw. Also a number of nieces and nephews.
A service will be held Saturday, August 1, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, Hancock, Md., Rev. F. Allan Weatherhot Jr., Rev. Don Preston and Rev. John Winckler will officiate. Burial will be in the Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Hancock Assembly of God Church, Hancock, Md., on Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, 2 E. High St., Hancock, MD 21750 or the Hancock Assembly of God Church, 431 North Pa. Avenue, Hancock, MD 21750 or to Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery, c/o Mrs. Effie Ward, 2111 Maryland Avenue, Hancock, MD 21750.
