Great Cove Golf News

Last week at Great Cove saw the Senior Club Championship as well as the eighth week of Women's League, and the 14th week of Men's League.

More than 30 golfers played in the Senior Club Championship Sunday. The tournament was divided into two flights - senior and super senior - and played as individual score. Prizes were given, in the senior flight, to the three lowest net scores and lowest gross score. In the super senior flight the two lowest net scorers received prizes.

The senior champion, receiving $50, was Dale Keebaugh, who shot a net score of 57. Larry Ensminger placed second with a 59, and Ken Mayhugh won third, shooting a 63. The low gross winner was Ron Maslanik, who shot a 71. He won $50. The winner of the super senior flight was Dave Tyson, and Ray Wingert came in second. Tyson shot a net score of 62, and Wingert shot a 65.

The eighth week of Women's League ended the first half of summer play. The team of Sheeder and Everhart finished on top with 36 points. Behind by one was Boyle's and O'Donnell's team, and in third with 31 points was the team of Wagner and Ranck.

The 14th week of Men's League left Mayhugh's and Tyson's team in the lead with 19 points after earning 7.5 points on Thursday. Kendall and Yocum are currently in second with 16.5 points. Tied for third with 16s are the teams of Shives and Shives and Weller and Mellott.
