Library Fund- Raising Continues
The Fulton County Library fundraising efforts are gaining momentum. Because there has been a large response to naming opportunities, the Funding Committee has established additional areas to be named in the newly renovated library. Individuals and businesses interested in contributing to the furnishing of specific rooms can obtain information by calling the library director, Jamie Brambley.
Another fundraising project is the purchase of a paver. The 4-x-8-inch brick pavers can be inscribed with three lines of your particular information. The installation of these pavers is planned for the area in front of the main entrance. You may purchase a paver for a $50 donation.
A third project provides an opportunity for children to put their mark on the inside of the library. Ceramic tiles can be purchased for a suggested donation of $15. The 6-x-6-inch tiles will be stamped with your child's handprint and name to be displayed at various appropriate locations throughout the library. The funds from the tile sale are earmarked for new programming equipment for the children's library area.
Special forms can be picked up at the library locations in Mc- Connellsburg and Hustontown, and also from various locations throughout the community and from library board members.
Tentative forecasts indicate that the completion of the construction phase is targeted for the first week of August. New library furniture is scheduled to be installed during the second week, followed by the work of moving books and other items from the temporary basement library to the main and upper floors. The celebration is to be set for mid-September.
