Pa. Woman Charged In Terrorism Hoax
WEST LAWN, Pa. (AP) - A former employee of a Pennsylvania school district is accused of sending a letter to the CIA falsely reporting someone as a terrorist and of stealing about $92,000 from the school district.
Federal prosecutors say 35- year-old Tina Heller-Paplosky of Bethel Township, Berks County, is charged under the Stop Terrorist and Military Hoaxes Act of 2004 for a letter she allegedly mailed in October 2007.
She is also accused of stealing from the Wilson School District by making it look like a some taxpayers had paid their tax bills twice by mistake. Prosecutors say she mailed purported refund checks to post office boxes she had opened.
Heller-Paplosky doesn't have a listed phone number; it was not immediately clear if she had a lawyer.
