The weekend weather was wonderful. We had a nice shower over the weekend.

Our sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Howard "Bill" Henry, who passed away last week.

Sorry to hear Paul Byers was taken to Harrisburg Hospital. We send get well wishes to him and hope he can be home soon.

Happy birthday wishes to Geraldine Helman, who just had a birthday. There was a birthday party held in her honor at Knobsville United Methodist Church on Sunday afternoon. Also happy birthday wishes to Arlie Wilkins, who will have a special day on July 22.

A nice crowd attended the festival at Center Community building on Saturday evening. The folks served a good meal and also had ice cream.

A covered-dish meal was held on Sunday at Clear Ridge Community Building in honor of the new minister for the Clear Ridge and Center United Methodist churches who is Betty Secrist.

It is good to see the gas prices starting to come down some.

Sarah Shaw is giving her house a new paint job. It is looking real nice.

Don't forget this Saturday, July 18, is the car sow at Hustontown Firehall. They will also be having chicken barbecue and lots of good eats.

Household hint: Cutting board deodorizer. To eliminate odors from cutting boards, rub them with a paste of baking soda and water, then rinse well. For really bad odors, you may want to leave the paste on for a short time before rinsing.
