Two Arrested During Undercover Sting
Two McConnellsburg Borough residents were sent to the Franklin County Prison last Thursday in lieu of $75,000 bail following an undercover sting by the Troop G vice unit. Fifty-oneyear old Carolyn M. Spoonire and Roger L. Barnett, 53, were arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott on the charges.
State police undercover officers reported Spoonire allegedly sold crack cocaine twice to undercover officers at her 655-A East Maple Street residence. During an evening search of the residence last Wednesday, officers found money, "owe sheets," buy money from a previous controlled purchase and photo identification of Spoonire and Barnett inside a basket-type purse. Next to the purse, state police maintain, was a black fire safe containing eight grams of suspected crack and additional money from another controlled buy. Additional "owe sheets" were also found in the fire safe.
St. Thomas Man Cited
A St. Thomas man was cited for driving on a suspended driver's license during a checkpoint conducted by state police along Grist Mill Road in Dublin Township. Forty-eight-year-old David Henry Lehman was cited in connection with the traffic stop on May 25 at 1:36 p.m.
A 25-year-old woman was sprayed with pepper spray in the Tower Bank parking lot in Ayr Township on Sunday, July 5, at 5 p.m., according to state police. Charged with harassment as a result of the incident was Kristopher Patrick Kelso, 38, of Mc- Connellsburg.
Robertsdale Man Charged In Accident
A Robertsdale area man was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic following a single-vehicle collision along Waterfall Road. Thirty-two-year-old Allie N. Masood III lost control of his westbound 2001 Pontiac Grand Am on Thursday, July 2, at 6 p.m. Masood's car struck a ditch and spun in a circle. Masood, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.
Woman Cited With Harassment
Twenty-nine-year-old Mc- Connellsburg resident Marsha Swope has been cited with harassment through the office of Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott. Swope, state police reported, allegedly called and textmessaged a 40-year-old woman repeatedly and drove by her 828 Lincoln Way East, McConnellsburg, residence and made obscene gestures. The harassment reportedly occurred on Thursday, July 2, at noon.
Car Rolls Over
A Harrisonville man escaped injury when his 1996 Ford Escort struck an embankment and rolled over in Brush Creek Township. Terrence T. Silver, 43, was wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred along Route 30 on Saturday, July 4, at 1:08 a.m. Silver will be cited by state police for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Money Reported Missing
Approximately $200 in quarters was reported missing from a 212 East Walnut Street, Mc- Connellsburg, garage. The victim, a 62-year-old man, informed state police the currency was stolen between 7:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 27. Seventeen-Year-Old Charged With Underage Drinking
A 17-year-old male from Mc- Connellsburg has been cited for underage drinking by state police, McConnellsburg. Troopers reported that on Wednesday, June 24, at 10:05 p.m. the teen was being interviewed regarding an unrelated incident. During the interview, troopers determined the boy had been allegedly consuming alcohol. Teen Cited For Underage Drinking
State police, McConnellsburg, reported a 16-year-old Hustontown boy has been cited for underage drinking as a result of an incident along North Hess Road in Hustontown on Tuesday, June 30, at 8 p.m.
State police are investigating a hit-and-run collision that occurred in the parking lot behind 802 East Poplar Street, Mc- Connellsburg, between 8:30 p.m. on June 30 and 2:15 p.m. on July 1. The front left corner of a legally parked 1992 Chevrolet Lumina suffered damage during the accident. Three Cited For Shooting Mobile Home, Cow
Three individuals were charged with disorderly conduct after they allegedly struck a mobile home and cattle with a BB gun while shooting at a soda can along McGowen Lane near 158 North Clear Ridge Road.
Among those charged through Magisterial District Judge Devin Horne were Ryan Allen Edwards, 21, of Saxton; a 16-year-old Burnt Cabins boy; and a 16-year-old boy from Hustontown. Victims of the Sunday, June 28, 7 p.m. incident in Dublin Township were two 28-year-old Hustontown men.
Deer Jumps Into Side of Vehicle
A white-tailed deer jumped from the berm of Route 522 in Bethel Township and into the side of northbound 1996 Ford Taurus. The name or address of the driver was not released by state police following the Monday, June 29, 9:05 p.m. crash just south of Long Hollow Road.
Police Await Drug Lab Results
On the heels of a vehicle stop along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70, state police, Mc- Connellsburg, are awaiting results of a drug analysis at the crime laboratory. During the traffic stop in Brush Creek Township on Friday, June 26, state police found suspected marijuana, Oxycontin, morphine and prescription pills. Charges against Richard Earl Garland Jr. of Littlestown through Magisterial District Judge Carol Jean Johnson are pending.
Copper Pipe Stolen
Copper pipe and exposed electrical wiring were removed from an unoccupied residence located at 243 Lincoln Way East, McConnellsburg, between August 1, 2008, and June 17, 2009. Rolls Of Wire Taken
Two rolls of copper wire and a Tube Press machine were taken from the 3297 Mountain Road, Warfordsburg, yard belonging to a 60-year-old man between 12:01 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 13. Fort Loudon Man Cited For Making Threats
A 27-year-old Fort Loudon man has been accused of making terrorstic threats, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness for an incident that occurred on Friday, June 26, along Grist Mill Road. According to state police, Rod Shoemaker allegedly walked onto the Dublin Township roadway, bearing a firearm, and told a 29-year-old Burnt Cabins man and a 28-year-old man from Doylesburg he was going to kill them. Shoemaker also shouted at the duo from his apartment. Rear Window Broken
The rear window of a vehicle belonging to a 66-year-old Mc- Connellsburg man was broken on Tuesday, June 30, at 7:30 p.m. The vehicle was parked at 626 East Maple Street, McConnellsburg, when the criminal mischief occurred. Hit-And-Run Vehicle Sought
State police, McConnellsburg, are currently searching for the whereabouts of a vehicle responsible for a hit-and-run collision in the parking lot of Scrub Ridge Inn on Sunday, June 21. The westbound vehicle attempted to turn around in the parking lot at 1 a.m. and struck a parked 1994 Jeep Cherokee, which was pushed into a 1995 Ford F-150. The vehicle was reportedly last seen travelling eastbound on Route 30.
Turn-Out Gear Stolen
Turn-out gear was stolen from the McConnellsburg Firehall between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. on May 25. Victim is a 32-year-old McConnellsburg man, who valued the missing items at $1,000. Identity Theft Reported
A 42-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man from the Warfordsburg area were recently victims of identity fraud. State police reported debit card account information belonging to the duo was utilized to make purchases between 8 a.m. on June 18 and 11:55 a.m. on June 20.
A purse was reported stolen from MacDonald's Pharmacy in McConnellsburg on Tuesday, June 30, between 2:45 p.m. and 5 p.m. Victim of the theft is a 56- year-old McConnellsburg woman.
