Bernadine Mills, 73, Hustontown, Pa., died at 1:43 a.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at her home in Maddensville.

Born November 9, 1935, at Clear Ridge, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Bernice (Brown) Wilson. She was united in marriage to Otis "Buck" Mills on November 30, 1957. Mr. Mills survives at their home.

She is survived by the following children: Teressa Souders and husband Michael, Andrew Mills and Terry Mills and wife June, all of Maddensville; six grandchildren: Lydia, Benjamin and A. J. Souders and Steven, Shane and Shawn Mills; a brother, John Wilson, of Florida, along with three sisters: Eunice Hawbaker, McConnellsburg; Daphne Fraker, Fort Littleton; and Patsy Mellott, Hustontown.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven; and a sister, Doris House.

She was a lifelong member of Walnut Grove Church of God, RD, Three Springs.

In earlier years, she worked at Howard Johnson's on the Pennsylvania Turnpike and at Sagner Inc., McConnellsburg. She was last employed for 10 years at Locke's Store, Maddensville.

She loved to grow flowers, read, collect cookbooks and bake for her family and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and family gatherings at Lonesome Dove were very dear to her.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2009, at Walnut Grove Church of God. Pastor Travis Mellott will officiate. Interment will be made in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt Street, Hustontown, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday and at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
