P. Edwina Wilkerson
Born August 15, 1924, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Wallace and Mary Gertrude Booth Murray and the widow of Lloyd Wheeler Wilkerson, who died May 12, 2009.
She was a graduate of Hancock High School
Prior to being a homemaker, she was employed at the Naval Powder Factory in Indian Head, Md., as a mathematical statistician.
She was amember of Grace Chapter 21 and past guardian International Order of Jobs Daughters, Bethel 24, both of Indian Head, Md.
She was past worthy matron of OES State of Maryland.
She was a member of Hancock United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Lynnea W. Richards and husband Joe, Hagestown; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters: Clamonce Wilkerson, Mary Louise Martin, Betty Sheeder and Gwendolyn Yost, and a brother, Edwin "Bud" Murray.
Services were held Tuesday, July 7, at 10:00 a.m., at Hancock United Methodist Church. Rev.William E. Merki officiated. Burial was made in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, was in charge of arrangements.
