Harold D. Grissinger
Harold D. "Mooch" Grissinger, 54, Three Springs, Pa., was pronounced dead Saturday evening, June 27, 2009, in Springfield Twp., Huntingdon Co., as a result of injuries sustained in an accidental fall.
He was born November 18, 1954, in Springfield Twp., Huntingdon Co., Pa., the son of Esther E. (Wilson) Grissinger who survives of Three Springs, and the late E. Wayne Grissinger. He is also survived by his adoptive daughter, Elizabeth.
Also surviving are the following siblings: Betty Leighton and husband Denver, St. Thomas; Nancy Stains, Three Springs; Linda Kelly and husband Eugene, Three Springs; Judy Pyles and husband George, Neelyton, Pa.; Gary Grissinger and wife Rose, St. Thomas; Larry Grissinger and wife Joyce, Three Springs; David Grissinger, Three Springs; 13 nieces and nephews and 15 great-nieces and nephews also survive.
He was a life member of the Marine Corps League, Chambersburg, and Sideling Hill Sportsman's Club; a member of Madden-Wennick Post 518, American Legion, Rockhill Furnace, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Harrisonville.
He was employed for the last four years by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers at Raystown Lake. Prior to that, he worked in the construction field for seven years and at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, for 23 years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed taking many local children fishing.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2009, at Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia. Rev. Dr. Kenneth Grundon officiated. Interment was made at Cherry Grove Cemetery, Three Springs.
