Postal Services Announces Modified Holiday Collections And Retail Hours
Postal officials announced modieifed mail collection for Friday, July 3. Mail collection from official postal collection boxes and other postal locations will be at the time posted on the collection box or at noon, whichever is earlier on that day. This means customers should deposit outgoing mail prior to noon or the posted collection time, if it's earlier.
Many postal windows will be open regular hours. Retail hours are being modified July 3 only at some post offices because traditionally customer transactions decline on holiday weekends.
Because some local closing times could vary, it's recommended customers check with their local post office for the exact closing time and for additional information about retail services on July 3. Post offices that are closing early will post advance notice in the lobby along with the location of a nearby post office open regular hours. Mail delivery will not be affected by this change.
The postal service will deliver Express Mail on July 4 in most major metropolitan cities. Customers can go online at www.usps.com for quick, easy and convenient service.
