Free Veterans Outreach And AssistanceAvailable

Jim Krobath of the Governors' Veterans Outreach and Assistance Center will visit the F&M Trust in the Penn's Village Shopping Center in Mc- Connellsburg on Tuesday, July 7. Free help and advice will be available for veterans and family members from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

For those who are "housebound," require the help of another person, in an assisted living facility, or a nursing home, you may be eligible under the "aid and attendance" program.

The VA secretary announced that amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), better known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is now a presumptive illness. Any veteran diagnosed with this illness who served 90 days or more of continuous active military service is eligible to receive compensation benefits.
