Strawber r y Festival Event Results

Friday night events at the Strawberry Festival featured the annual Fulton County's Got Talent contest. This year seven contestants competed for the top five prizes.

Tonia Laughlin of Mc- Connellsburg sang her way to a first-place finish. The runner-up was singer Shelby Long, also of McConnellsburg. The event was sponsored by Tower Bank.

Five contestants took to the stage at noon for the popular hot dog eating contest. Emerging victorious after consuming 11 hot dogs in the allotted 20 minute period was David Lane of Warfordsburg. He faced the following opponents: Richard Strait, Caleb Washabaugh, Alex Kendall and Jonathan Oris.

The final event of this year's festival was the Berry Fun Dog Show. Dog owners Scott Rosenberry, Austin Shelley, Erica Hendershot and Chris Snyder captured first-place finishes.

The annual festival is held the second weekend during the month of June. It features good food, local vendors and crafters, entertainment plus strawberry treats. The festival is organized by the Fulton County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism.
