Lester Swope had surgery for a torn retina this past week. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Gene Cornelius had heart surgery this week in Danville. Please keep him in your prayers as he recovers.

Cody and Dison Myers and Allen Seibert attended the rodeo in Huntingdon on Saturday evening.

Joe and Melanie Myers celebrated their 20th anniversary over the weekend with a visit to Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Md.

Congratulations to Mike Hiles and Samantha Anderson on their exchange of wedding vows on Saturday at the Methodist Church in Orbisonia.

Approximately 60 folks enjoyed the Maddensville Schoolhouse Reunion on Saturday afternoon. The group endured a short rain shower but otherwise had a great visit with former classmates and their spouses.

Dorothy Patterson had an interesting incident with a porch swing last week and is now sporting a few nice stitches. We wish her a speedy recovery.

Tom and Mamie Streightiff, Chuck and Polly Streightiff, Huldah and Betty Streightiff, and Chuckie and Alexis Streightiff enjoyed a Father's Day dinner at the Raystown Resort Conference Center on Sunday afternoon.

Visiting with Steve, Karen, Terri and Tammy Grissinger this week were Tawnya and Tristen Hall, Brent Carlson, Tom and Mamie Streightiff, and Hannah, Naomi, Sarah and Zachary Diehl. The Diehls and Tammy and Terri Grissinger enjoyed a dip in Gordon and Donna Locke's pool and a visit with Justin Locke.

The Clear Ridge ladies and gents will be holding a festival on June 25. >The menu will be turkey dinners, homemade pies and ice cream.

Hustontown Volunteer Fire Co. will be having an antique car show at the fire hall on July 18. More details about the event will be coming.

Three Springs Fire Co. will be having a chicken barbecue on Sunday, June 28, beginning at 11 a.m.
