Guy M. Hess

Guy M. Hess, 79, Chambersburg, died Wednesday morning, June 10, 2009, in Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born November 5, 1929, in Bethel Township, Fulton County, he was the son of the late Wallace L. Hess and Madeline Truax Hess Spidel.

He was a 1948 graduate of Warfordsburg High School and a graduate of the former Chambersburg Business School.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948-1952 serving his country during the Korean War.

He was an accountant at Shippensburg University, retiring in December of 1999 after 31 years of service.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg and the Friendship Engine and Hose Co. #1 in Chambersburg.

He is survived by his loving wife, Thelma Hann Hess, whom he married September 14, 1957; three children: Kenneth R. Hess, Nadine K. Stoler and Douglas A. Hess, all of Chambersburg; and three grandchildren: Stephanie R. Stoler, Kristen R. Stoler and Kaitlyn E. Hess.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, was in charge of arrangements.
