Carl D. Elvey
Carl D. "Bucky" Elvey, 77, James Creek, Pa., died Friday, June 12, 2009, at his daughter's residence in Pottstown Pa.
Born in McConnellsburg Pa., he was the son of the late Roy and Minnie (Fix) Elvey.
He had worked as a welder for 30 years, retiring from the Naval Depot, Mechanicsburg, Pa.
He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was also a member of the Cumberland, Pa., Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are three daughters: Carol, wife of C. Scott Burnley, of Pottstown; Pamela Ford, of Stowe; and Karen, wife of Robert Hunt, of Spring City; five grandchildren: James Laws Jr., Gregory Hunt, Joshua Ford, Brandon Hunt and Shelby Burnley and two great-grandchildren: Aidan and Nicholas Laws.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Elvey, and a sister, Doris J. Elvey.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 20, 2009, at noon at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 322 N. Second St., McConnellsburg, Pa., with Rev. Dr. Theodore E. Kiffer officiating.
Local arrangements were handled by Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, McConnellsburg.
Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 711 North Franklin St., Pottstown, is in charge of arrangements.
