Paul E. Bishop
Paul Elmore Bishop, 78, Hancock, Md., died Satuday, June 13, 2009, at Winchester Medical Center.
Born June 25, 1930, in Washington County, Md., he was the son of the late Phillip Elmore and Iva May Weller Bishop.
He is survived by three daughters: Sharon L. Housewright, Jefferson City, Tenn.; Paula J. Hart, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and Sarah E. Steinbar, Frederick, Md.; a sister, Vivian R. Wandles, Warfordsburg; three brothers: Lloyd P. Bishop and Jeffrey L. Bishop, both of Hancock, and Herbert H. Bishop, South Fork, Pa.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jean Vanorsdale Bishop, who died March 22, 2009, and two sisters: Mildred J. Edward and Doris A. Keefer.
He was of the Protestant faith and attended Price Memorial Wesleyan Church, Little Orleans, Md.
He attended Hancock High School and worked as a paver operator for R.F. Kline Paving and Craig Paving.
He was a member of AARP, Webster B. Harrison SAL and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1483.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs. Rev. Darryl G. McClain officiated. Burial was private.
