Cowans Gap Activities
The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of State Parks, and Cowans Gap State Park would like to announce the following.
Weekend activities at Cowans Gap
June 26 - 7:30 p.m.: Flower Dancers. If it were not for the flower dancers (bees, hummingbirds, bats and others), there would be no fruits and no seeds on Earth. These tiny creatures do a tremendously important service for humans and all other creatures on the planet that often goes overlooked. Discover the hidden lives of pollinators in this slide show presentation suitable for all ages at the Brightbill Interpretive Center.
June 27 - 7:00 p.m.: Packing Your Bags: Find out what you should pack on your next hiking trip so that you'll be prepared for just about anything! Meet at the Amphitheater.
8:30 p.m.: Campfire: Pick up some helpful tips on building a campfire. Then enjoy the crackling fire while listening to some Native American legends, stories, and maybe even a silly song or two! This campfire is suitable for all ages. Bring a camp chair or blanket to sit on.
June 28 - 2:00 p.m.: Walk with Mrs. Cowan: Come along on a walk with "Mrs. Cowan." This walk will guide visitors on a stroll around the lake while discovering the history of Cowans Gap. Meet at the beach area.

Scheduled visitor hours for the Brightbill Interpretive Center this weekend are as follows: Thurs: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Fri: 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.; Sat: 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.; and Sun: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
