Charles V. Clingerman
Charles Victory "Sonny" Clingerman, 80, Hancock, Md., died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at his home.
Born July 30, 1928, at Sleepy Creek, W.Va., he was the son of the late Jesse and Flo Vann Clingerman.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in Germany.
He was retired from Raylock in Hancock.
He was a member of Hancock Assembly of God.
Surviving are his wife, Naomi M. Coonrod Clingerman, whom he married December 24, 1953, in Hancock; two daughters: Betty Lou Seavolt and Sherry Lee Reynolds, both of Hancock; two sisters: Alice Boden of Pennsylvania; Pauline Barker, Hancock; a brother, David Clingerman, Hancock; five grandchildren; one stepgrandson; and eight greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Wertman, and two infant brothers.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 5, at 11:00 a.m., at Hancock Assembly of God Church. Pastor Don Preston and Pastor Robert Smith officiated. Burial with military graveside services by Tri-State Honor Guard was made in Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Cemetery, near Hancock.

Grove Funeral Home in Hancock was in charge of arrangements.
