Harold H. Beatty

Three Springs, 85

Harold H. Beatty, 85, Three Springs, died at 12:35 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Woodland Retirement Community, Orbisonia.

Born August 17, 1923, in Cromwell Township, he was a son of the late Carl Beatty and Emma (Whitsel) Jenkins. He married the former Verna E. Davidson October 17, 1949. She preceded him in death July 27, 1989.

He is survived by a son, Barry L. Beatty and wife Diane, Mc- Connellsburg; and a stepson, John D. Poleck, and wife Joyce; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; eight siblings: Pauline Scott, Dorothy Stains and Marjorie Stake, all of Three Springs; Eleanor Lancaster and Sylvia Klepping, both of Elizabethtown; Yvonne Thomas, York; Ruth Hicks, Cassville; and Patricia Speer, Blairs Mills.

He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Barbara Covert; a grandson and three brothers: Janvier Jenkins, Herman Jenkins and Merrill Jenkins.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Navy.

He was a member of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Madden Wennick American Legion Post No. 518, Rockhill; and the Blue Juniata VFW Post No. 5754, Mount Union.

He retired from Harbison- Walker Refractories, Mount Union, after 45 years service. He was also engaged in logging.

At his request, no funeral services were held and cremated remains were scattered privately in Montana.

Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, was in charge of arrangements.
