Elmer L. Hill
Elmer L. Hill, 80, Warfordsburg, died Monday, June 8, 2009, at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.
Born June 28, 1928, in Whips Cove, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry Franklin and Blanche Smith Hill and the husband of the late Norma R. Schriever Hill, who died December 27, 1996.
He served in the Merchant Marines during the Korean Conflict.
He was retired from Londontown Manufacturing, formerly of Hancock, Md.
He was a member of the Merchant Marines Association.
He had been justice of he peace in Union Township for six years and had been an election judge for Union Township.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Hancock West.
He is survived by a daughter, Adonna Reba Norma Iverson, Orem, Utah; a son, Henry Oren Paul Hill, Provo, Utah; one sister, Mary Jeanette McKee, Warfordsburg; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Hill, and a sister, Gladys Carson.
Services will be held Saturday, June 13, at 11:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Douglas Street, Hancock, Md. Bishop Larry Hartman will officiate. Burial will be in the Jerusalem Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg.
The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, June 12, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Arrangements are being andled by Grove Funeral Home, Hancock.
