James E. Eisaman
James E. "Ed" Eisaman, 86, Upper Strasburg, died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at his daughters residence.
Born May 30, 1923, in Waterfall, Fulton County, he was a son of the late James O. and Martha Hazel Thomas Eisaman.
A United States Army Veteran of World War II, he was honorably discharged in 1945. Upon his discharge, he began his career at Letterkenny Army Depot, where he worked as a dynomometer tester and mechanic for 37 years until his retirement in 1979.
On November 25, 1948, he married Betty M. Kough. She preceded him in death on June 13, 1996.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and attended the Upper Strasburg Senior Center as well as the Upper Strasburg Church of God.
A longtime member of the Letterkenny Rod & Gun Club, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He once owned a property on the eastern shore of Virginia, where he liked to take his friends to fish.
Surviving are his daughter, Linda S. Shauf, and husband David Jr., of Shippensburg; three brothers: Terry Eisaman and wife Connie of Ft. Loudon; Donald Eisaman and wife Judy of Harrisonville; and Robert Eisaman of Robertsdale; one sister, Betty Hess of McConnellsburg; two grandchildren: Amanda Locke and husband Adam of Shippensburg and Matthew Shauf and wife Chrystal of Shippensburg, six great-grandchildren: Toryn, Cameron, Brayden, Logan, David "D.J." and Abbey; extended grandchild Justin Kauffman of Shippensburg, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 4, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Keith R. Bell will officiate. Family and friends will reconvene for burial at noon in the Bethel Cemetery, New Grenada. Viewing will be at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Thursday.
