FBI Probing Apparent Double- Shooting Hoax In Pennsylvania

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The FBI in Pittsburgh is investigating an apparent hoax in which a man called a hospital and claimed to have shot two people.

Millvale police say the call was placed to UPMC South Side hospital about 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The caller reported shooting people on a street called Lincoln Avenue, but didn't identify a municipality.

That prompted Allegheny County 911 dispatchers to alert police in Millvale and Bellevue, because both Pittsburgh suburbs have a street by that name.

Police found nothing at either location and called the FBI once they determined the phone came from a Jamaican cell phone number. An FBI spokesman hasn't immediately returned a call Monday.
