Vandals Flatten Tires On About 50 Pa. School Buses
SPRING GROVE, Pa. (AP) - Classes were a little late in opening in one south-central Pennsylvania school district because someone had flattened the tires on dozens of school buses.
Drivers arriving at the Reliance Motor Coach parking lot around 5:30 a.m. Monday found that the air had been let out of the tires on about 50 buses that serve the Spring Grove Area School District.
District officials announced a two-hour delay in the start of classes while replacement buses were found.
Southwestern Regional Police say the lot where the buses are stored is not secure and buses on the same lot were vandalized by a group of juveniles several weeks ago.
The district is working with the bus company to step up security at the parking facility.
