Lloyd W. Hoffman
Lloyd Wilbur Hoffman, 78, Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia, died Saturday morning, May 23, 2009, at the center.
He was born in Saltillo, the son of the late Russell Frank and Emma Blanche (Gladfelter) Hoffman.
He married Pearl Elizabeth Gerringer on July 2, 1951, in Saltillo by Pastor Richard Myers.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl, of 57 years, of Three Springs; a son, Perry Lynn Hoffman, and wife Marion "Ginny", Three Springs; three grandchildren: Darlene Wilson and husband Jim, Three Springs; Amanda Drenning, Holmes, Pa.; and Joshua Michael Hoffman, Three Springs; three great-grandchildren: Caleb Reed Wilson, Three Springs; Lauren Michelle Drenning, Holmes, Pa., and Nicholas James Sharkey, Holmes, Pa.; and a brother, Cloyd Frank Hoffman, Three Springs.
He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers: Ethel McNeal, Fred Hoffman and Harvey Hoffman.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He retired from R.H. Lumber Co. in Black Log Valley, Orbisonia, in 1992 and had previously worked at the following sawmills: Raymond Bollinger, Tedd Crotsley and Harry and Russell Morgan.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, his four-wheeler, riding his motorcycle and most of all, enjoyed his family and friends. He was a wonderful husband and father.
Graveside services were held Saturday, May 30, at 2:00 p.m. in the Cherry Grove Cemetery, Three Springs. Pastor Darren McClintock officiated.
