Death Penalty Mulled In Pa. Student's Murder
ALTOONA, Pa. (AP) - Prosecutors have been given more time to decide whether to seek the death penalty against a man charged with killing a western Pennsylvania college student whose body was found in the trunk of her car.
Nineteen-year-old Sean Louis Allen, of Hollidaysburg, is charged with criminal homicide in the March 3 death of 20-yearold Margo Davis, of Altoona. Allen pleaded not guilty at a hearing Friday.
Deputy District Attorney Wade Kagarise asked for a 60- day delay in deciding whether to seek the death penalty, saying more tests are needed to determine whether the case calls for capital punishment.
Prosecutors said earlier that text messages indicate the Penn State-Altoona student may have been trying to buy marijuana from the defendant, a former high school classmate.
