Hustontown

By Kate Berkstresser

Hope everyone was out and enjoying the beautiful weekend and also took time to think of what Memorial Day is all bout.

Our sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Nancy Horne, who passed away last week.

We are sorry to report Frank Martz wasn't doing too good this past week. Hope he can be improved soon.

We are glad to report that Shawn Knepper is out of intensive care and doing better. He hopefully will be moved to Chambersburg this week. The family and everyone are grateful for answered prayers and continue to keep him in our prayers.

Visitors in the home of Kate Berkstresser on Sunday were granddaughter Pam Plante and husband Bobbie and sons Bo and Brandon of Urbana, Md. All enjoyed dinner at Sandy Ridge Restaurant. Also, Harvey and Pat Berkstresser visited in the same home.

A very impressive memorial service was held at Knobsville United Methodist Church on Sunday. Quite a few pictures of family members who were in the service and some still are, were honored as well as others.

Congratulations to all those who won the nominations at the primary on Tuesday. Now they can prepare to do the same this fall.

Congratulations to James and Corrine Bennett of Carlisle on the arrival of a daughter Saturday morning. She has been named Madison Bennett.

Hustontown High School Class of 1959 will hold its annual yearly breakfast at Fort Family Restaurant on Saturday, June 6, at 9:00 a.m. All class members are asked to attend.

Sorry to hear Pastor Baumgardner of Clear Ridge and Center United Methodist churches is being transferred to a new parish.
