Corey Henry, who is in the Air Force, is home visiting his family and friends before going to Virginia, where he will be stationed. He is the son of Michael Henry Jr. and Cindy Carbaugh.

Gail Hann Horton of Atlanta, Ga., and a former Fulton County resident, visited on Friday with her former classmate, Janet Geyer, and Doris M. Sheeder.

Robert Carbaugh, a graduate of McConnellsburg High School and now living in Texas, visited with his father, George Carbaugh, a resident in Fulton County Medical Center, and other relatives last week.

Kim Waters of Burnt Cabins is at home recuperating from having surgery in Chambersburg Hospital last Tuesday.

Public Opinion weekly honor roll student-athletes were Mc- Connellsburg - Lucas Banks, track and field; Sam McQuade, softball; Tanner Shoop, Mc- Connellsburg baseball; Southern Fulton - Amy Bard, track and field; Jenna Hollenshead, track and field; Brooke Whiteside, softball; and Robert Shehan, Mc- Connellsburg track and field.

Dave Peck of West Wood Street, spent 16 days touring the national parks and hiking in the states of Utah, Arizona and Nevada recently. He had a great time. The Grand Canyon was one of his stops.

Patty Kumanick from the University of Pittsburgh visited with Kay McBeath a day last week. They were college friends, both in the physical therapy department at the university. Kay is able to be out and driving her car after a six-month recovery from falling at her home.

Don't forget Vacation Bible School will be held the week of June 8-12 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McConnellsburg Presbyterian Church. There will be classes from nursery through grade six. There will be a special closing program on Friday evening, June 12.

Jane and Paul MacDonald have returned from Montana where they attended graduation exercises for Ross and Adam Lane from the University of Montana. Ross and Adam are the twin sons of the MacDonald's daughter Lisa. Adam graduated from the School of Education with a Bachelor of Science degree in health and human performance. Ross graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. Both boys graduated with honors. They will continue their education in Montana.

Visiting over the Memorial Day weekend with her mother, Maggie Riggs of McConnellsburg, sister Lindsay and Lex Mellott of Needmore, and longtime friend "News" publisher Jamie Greathead were Leslie Broyles and Tom Barnett of North Myrtle Beach, S.C. Also spending the holiday weekend with her cousin, Lindsay and Lex Mellott, in Needmore were Jan Holland-Hayes and husband David Hayes of Doylestown, Pa.
