Snake Causes Outage In Hannibal
HANNIBAL, Mo. (AP) - A large snake is taking the blame for a power outage in the northeast Missouri town of Hannibal.
The snake slithered up a power pole Friday afternoon, causing two brief outages in downtown and in another area of town.
Utility officials say the name managed to climb to the top of the pole, where it came into contact with power lines carrying 13,800 volts. Despite the double dose of electricity, the snake survived.
