Courtney E. Metz, Shippensburg, graduated from the University of North Carolina at Asheville on May 16, 2009. Courtney was in the honors department and graduated with two degrees. Her degrees are a Bachelor of Science degree in management with a concentration in business administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communication with a concentration in print media, graduating with university honors. She has been on the dean's list and chancellor's list every semester. She graduated summa cum laude. Courtney was selected for the Morton S. Cohn Outstanding Scholar Award for the highest GPA in mass communications and also awarded the academic excellence in management award for the highest GPA in management. At graduation, she was recognized for distinction as a university scholar and with distinction in her two majors. Courtney was selected to be a senior class board member. She also was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, International Honor Society in Business. Courtney was selected as the editorial intern for Lark Books and was the arts editor for "The Blue Banner" newspaper.
