Families from across the county came out to Southern Fulton Elementary on Satusday for the local Interagency Coordinating Council's Kid Fest 2009. More than 200 people showed up to join in a day of no-cost family-oriented fun.

The LICC is a group of area agencies and service providers related to the field of early childhood education. Representatives from these organizations were on hand to provide parents with information about local ECE opportunities while providing their kids with free, fun activities and entertainment.

When children weren't busy checking out the moon bounce, the petting zoo or the performances by the Shooting Stars dance troupe, they also took part in various crafts and activities. Many children spent time making picture frames, bracelets or sand art creations. When the heat got to be too much, they cooled down with snowcones and chatted with McGruff the Crime Dog.

Kid Fest will be held next year in the Forbes Road area.
