Marcellus Shale Plant Opens In Southwestern Pa.
HOUSTON, Pa. (AP) - A plant built to process natural gas drawn from the Marcellus Shale formation in southwestern Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia is up and running.
The facility about 15 miles south of Pittsburgh can process 30 million cubic feet of natural gas each day.
The plant is a joint venture of MarkWest Energy Partners LP, of Denver, and NGP Midstream & Resources LP, a private equity firm based in Houston.
It is nearby another gas processing plant opened last November by MarkWest and exploration company Range Resources Corp. of Fort Worth, Texas.
