Historical Society Library Fulton County Historical Society library has closed while the building is being renovated. Research books and genealogy materials will not be available for public use until the Fulton County Library renovation is completed in mid-summer. At that time the Historical Society library will reopen in a room on the second floor that will be accessible by elevator.

Tonoloway Books For Sale Copies of "Tonoloway, If Its Walls Could Talk" are still available for purchase. The 140-page book, written by John Mentzer and published by the Friends of Tonoloway Primitive Baptist Church, documents the signatures of Union troops hospitalized at Tonoloway at the time of Stonewall Jackson's bombardment of Hancock, Md., in 1862. The 8-1/2- x-11-inch soft-cover book also includes 90 photographs, a history of the church and a record of its restoration. Cost is $25 plus $3 postage. Book sales support the Friends ongoing restoration and maintenance Tonoloway, Fulton County's oldest church.

Food Drive Fulton County 4-H'ers will be around the county on Saturday, June 6, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, collecting nonperishable foods and donations for Fulton County Food Basket. Drop-off locations are Wilkins Farm Supply, Gordon's Cruise-In Ice Cream Shop, Harr's Grocery, Lincoln Way Market and Hustontown Post Office. Library Fundraiser Your child can lend a hand in decorating the newly renovated library. You can place your child's hand print and name on a six-inch square ceramic tile to be displayed in appropriate locations at the library. The cost is a suggested $15 contribution. Application forms may be picked up at the library. You can also inscribe your name or the name of a loved one on a brick paver to be placed in the patio area at the front entrance. Your contribution of $50 purchases a paver.

Hunter Education Course The Hunter-Trapper Education course will be held June 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and June 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Fulton County Pistol and Rifle Club. Bring a bag lunch on Saturday. This is the second of three courses for the county. Pre-registration is required at www.pgc.state.pa.us. Click on hunter education. Class is limited to 65 students. More information may be obtained by calling 717-573-2921 on Monday evenings only from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. No other calls will be accepted.

Relay For Life Luminarias Help light the way to a cure for cancer and honor family members and friends who have or have had cancer. For a suggested donation of $5 per name, you can sponsor a glowing tribute to the people you know who have experienced cancer. Luminarias will be lighted during Relay For Life, Friday, May 29, at 9 p.m. at Fulton County Fairgrounds Send name in honor or memory of, along with suggested donation of $5 per name, to Fulton County Relay For Life, c/o Judy Eisaman, 11883 Sipes Mill Road, Harrisonville PA 17728 or call the American Cancer Society at 717-264-6266. Fair Queen Applications Fulton County Fair Queen applications are now available for girls 16 but not over 20 years as of June 1, 2009. Entries must be submitted by July 1, 2009. Application and rules can be obtained through school or by contacting Vickie Gordon at 485-5137 or 485-4915.

Rummage Sale New Beginnings Youth is having a rummage sale at Evangel Assembly of God Church June 4 and 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lots of clothing for 25 cents. Soup and sandwiches also for sale.
