Three county schools participate in ICC championship
Representatives were on hand from all three county school districts Friday at the ICC Championship held at Northern Bedford High School. Eric Broadwater, the lone competitor from Forbes Road, took sixth in the 800 meter and finished in fifth place in the 1600 meter. For the McConnellsburg Spartans, Robert Shehan took top honors in the discus and a follow-up second place win in the shot put. Dillan Gordon garnered third in the 110 hurdles as well as fifth in the 300 hurdles. Briar Kirk finished in fifth in the 3200 meter for the Southern Fulton Indians, whose 3200 relay team ended the day in fourth place. McConnellsburg slipped by Tussey Mountain by 13-points last Wednesday but decisively dropped the following nonleague meet to Chestnut Ridge. Dillan Gordon won the 110 and 300 hurdles, and Robert Shehan took the shot put and discus. Gordon also ran a leg for the victorious 1600 relay team of Geoff Campbell, Johnny Joe Wible and John Goshorn.
