McConnellsburg 80, Tussey Mountain 67 Chestnut Ridge 122, McConnellsburg 28
Chestnut Ridge crushed the McConnellsburg Lady Spartans, who in turn defeated the Tussey Mountain Titans last Wednesday during a non-league tri-meet. The 400 relay team comprised of Jessica Nero, Lexi Shore, Cheyenne Hege and Jessica Reimold had the lone first-place finish for the Lady Spartans.
Southern Fulton's Amy Bard racked up a pair of first-place victories for the Indians during Friday's ICC Championships at Northern Bedford as well as a fourth-place finish in the 100 meter. Bard rallied for wins in the 400 meter and 800 meter, while Jenna Hollenshead was second in the 1600 and 800 meter events. Kelsie Truax had respective third and fifth-place wins in the 100 and 300 hurdles. Meanwhile, Caitie Mellott had fifth-place victory in the 100 meter and a third-place finish in the 200 meter. Teammate Lacey Beatty was fourth in the 1600 meter and second in the 3200 meter, while Chelsey Hollenshead was fourth in the 3200 meter and tied for fourth in the pole vault. Crystal Appel rounded out the day with a third-place win in the shot put.
McConnellsburg had some strong finishes during the championships with Sarah Brady clinching a second-place win in the high jump. Teammate A'Leese Dickerson went onto a fifth-place win in the shot put.
