Beatrice M. Morton
Beatrice M. Morton, 94, of Fulton County Medical Center Long-Term Care Unit and formerly of 5246 Pleasant Ridge Road, Needmore, Pa., died Sunday, May 10, 2009, at Fulton County Medical Center.
Beatrice was born in Needmore on March 18, 1915, the daughter of the late Oliver H. and Sarah "Myrtle'' (Mellott) Daniels. She was the widow of Harold M. Morton, whom she married on July 22, 1933. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1989.
She was a lifetime member of Sideling Hill Christian Church. Beatrice taught Sunday School and was treasurer for many years and was also a member of the Sideling Hill Christian Church Ladies Aide. She was a homemaker and farm wife. She loved gardening, flowers and caring for others.
She is survived by a daughter, Audrea J. Miller, wife of Neill of Needmore; son Blaine O. Morton, husband of Carolyn of Big Cove Tannery; sister Beulah Kerlin of Birmingham, Ala.; brother Blair Daniels of Harrisonville. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Kimberly S. Slee of Orrstown; Kevin B. Morton of Big Cove Tannery; Kristi D. Mellott of Needmore; Mac Miller of Needmore and Patti Miller of Needmore, and two great-grandchildren: Justin D. Mellott of Needmore and Noah A. Hykes of Needmore. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Eva Fix and Viola Madden, and two brothers: Blaine Daniels and Donald Daniels.
Services will be held at Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2009, with Rev. William Swope, Pastor Roger Truax and Pastor Richard Bernhard officiating. Interment will be made in Sideling Hill Christian Church Cemetery, Needmore.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 13, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc., Harrisonvile, and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
