Body Of Man Who Jumped From Bridge In Pa. Found
PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pennsylvania State Police say a man who jumped from a bridge in Beaver County in April while fleeing from police has been found dead.
Police say the body of 23- year-old Larry Ronald Smith III of Rochester was found Tuesday afternoon in the Ohio River between Hancock County, W.Va., and Jefferson County, Ohio.
Smith was wanted on gun and drug possession charges on April 4 when he was a passenger in a car pulled over for a traffic stop on the Monaca- Rochester Bridge in Beaver County. Police say he threw a gun and drugs from the bridge into the Ohio River, then jumped into the river to avoid arrest. He went underwater shortly afterward and didn't resurface.
