Stimulus Projects Under Way

PennDOT has announced that work has begun on two additional projects in District 9, financed with funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

Work has started on a $508,765 project to rehabilitate three bridges in Fulton County on Routes 1003 in Ayr Township, Route 3006 in Bethel Township and Route 4004 in Taylor Township. Work on Route 1003 and Route 3006 has started and the Route 4004 bridge work will begin when school recesses for the summer to avoid bus delays. The project was awarded to George S. Hann & Son Inc. of Fort Littleton, Fulton County.

Also awarded was a $589,408 project to resurface 2.5 miles of Route 30 in Brush Creek Township from the Bedford County line to the Fulton County truck pulloff. Work will include upgraded drainage, repaving and guiderail upgrades and replacement of a truck warning sign on Route 16. This project was awarded to New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. Inc. of New Enterprise, Bedford County. Both of these projects will be completed by late fall of 2009.
