Tri-State Invitational

The McConnellsburg Spartans garnered a third-place finish last Wednesday at the Tri-State Invitational in Hancock, Md., while Southern Fulton placed seventh with several top finishers. Dillan Gordon placed first in the 110 and 300 hurdles as well as fourth in the triple jump for the Spartans, who also got two firstplace wins from Robert Shehan in the shot put and discus. Lucas Banks followed on Shehan's heels with second-place wins in the shot put and discus. Johnny Joe Wible was fifth in the 800 meter, while Ryan Little finished third in the 200 meter. For the Indians, Tim Rohm captured second in the 300 hurdles. Meanwhile, the Indians 1600 relay team finished in fifth as did Josh Wertz in the long jump. Briar Kirk wrapped up the Invitational with a third-place finish in the pole vault.
