Ribbon-Cutting Set For New FCMC Sleep, Breathing Center

Pulmonary Consultants of Hagerstown began seeing patients October 9, 2008, weekly in the rehabilitative services area at Fulton County Medical Center. Beginning May 5, the group will be relocated to the newly created pulmonary services area, just behind admissions in the main lobby.

The group of five physicians, Dr. Abdul Waheed, Dr. Shaheen Iqbal, Dr. Johny Alencherry, Dr. Pajman Danai and Dr. Kalim Ahmed, specialize in pulmonary and sleep disorders.

Patients who have benefited from this evaluation include those with complaints of excessive daytime sleepiness or fatigue, trouble falling or staying asleep, witnessed severe or irregular snoring or breathing pauses, frequent tossing and turning, a need to move their legs or leg kicking, morning headaches, and occasionally in younger patients, hyperactivity.

The pulmonary services open house will be on May 12 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The official ribbon cutting ceremony for the pulmonary services area will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by, tours of the area, a meet-andgreet with the physicians, explanations of the services, and light refreshments.
