Forbes Road 2

McConnellsburg easily dispatched of the Forbes Road Cardinals Monday evening, clinching the Sideling Hill League match by 19 runs in four innings. Alexis Mellott took the win for the Lady Spartans with one strikeout and two hits during her first career start as pitcher. Meanwhile, Nicki McQuade went twofor four with a double and three RBIs. Sam Feagley, Courtney DeShong and Jenny Pittman each had two RBIs. For the Cardinals, pitcher Lauren King had one strikeout, seven walks, five hits and two earned runs in 2-1/3 innings.

Southern Fulton 3,

Tussey Mountain 2

Southern Fulton edged out Tussey Mountain by one run last Monday, winning the Sideling Hill League game 3-2. Pitcher Kelsey White racked up another win with seven strikeouts, five walks, five hits and two earned runs.

McConnellsburg 3,

Southern Fulton 1

Southern Fulton managed a run in the next to last inning last Thursday and fell to county rivals, the McConnellsburg Spartans, by a mere two runs. During the Sideling Hill League match, Spartans pitcher Megan Eichelberger rallied for eight strikeouts, four walks, two hits and one earned run. Meanwhile for the Indians, Kelsey White totalled six strikeouts, six walks and four hits.

Tussey Mountain 1

Alexis Mellott pushed the winning run across home plate in the sixth inning on a double last Saturday aiding the Mc- Connellsburg Spartans in a close 2-1 win over Tussey Mountain. Teammate Sam McQuade added an RBI, while winning pitcher Megan Eichelberger had 12 strikeouts, three walks and no hits.

Chestnut Ridge 6,

McConnellsburg 5

Chestnut Ridge edged out McConnellsburg by one run Friday evening after the Lady Spartans defense committed five errors and gave up seven walks. During the Sideling Hill League game, Sam McQuade and Taylor Morton both had doubles for Mc- Connellsburg. Alexis Mellott wrapped up the match with two hits, and pitcher Megan Eichelberger finished with four strikeouts, three hits, seven walks and only one earned run.

Southern Fulton 10, Hancock 0

Southern Fulton capitalized on Hancock's pitching and scored seven runs in the opening inning of last Friday's game to down the Maryland team by 10 runs in five innings. Kelsey White racked up six strikeouts, two walks and only one hit during the non-league match. Taylor Leasure batted two-for-two at the plate with two RBIs, and Emily Garland had three RBIs.

McConnellsburg 8,

Northern Bedford 3

McConnellsburg fought off both the rainy weather and Sideling Hill League rivals from Northern Bedford last Tuesday to clinch the match by the score of 8-3. Megan Eichelberger only gave up two hits and tallied 11 strikeouts along with nine walks during the game. Alexis Mellott had an RBI triple at the plate, and Sam McQuade had two doubles. Sam Feagley completed the game with two RBIs.
