Lloyd I. Divelbliss
Lloyd I. Divelbliss, 80, Hancock, died Thursday, April 16, 2009, at his home.
Born July 4, 1928, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Oliver M. and Ivy Grace Deshong Divelbliss.
He attended Price Wesleyan Church in Little Orleans, Md.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, receiving the Purple Heart and numerous other medals.
He was a music enthusiast, playing the guitar and harmonica.
He is survived by a son, Robert Burton, Warfordsburg; stepsons: Harry, Roland and Roger Lanehart, all of Hancock; stepdaughter: Barbara Truax, Greencastle; a sister, Betty Lanehart, McConnellsburg; and a brother, Jack Divelbliss, Hancock; a number of grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Bessie Mills, and his second wife, Roasalea Vanorsdale; a son, Tim Divelbliss; brothers: Merle, Floyd, Leo and Roy Divelbliss; and sisters: Marie Myers and Mildred Keefer.
Services were held Monday, April 20, at 11:00 a.m., at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock. Rev. Darl McClain officiated. Burial, with military honors by Tri-State Honor Guard, was in Price Wesleyan Cemetery, Little Orleans, Md.
