SF To Present Band/Choral Concert
The Southern Fulton High School Music Department will present its annual junior high chorus and band spring concert on Saturday, May 2, at 7:30 PM in the high school auditorium. This year's concert theme is "Music Makes the Difference" and features junior high chorus, junior high band, jazz band and selected soloists. The concert is under the direction of Dan Meredith and Mr. Benjamin Arnold.
The 54-member junior high chorus will present seven songs in a variety of styles from pop to jazz, classical to multicultural folk music. The 16-member junior high band will present six selections, including "Suncatcher," "Blues," Ghost in the Graveyard" and "The Second Storm." The jazz band features seven members and will perform music by Sonny Rollins, Oscar Pettiford and Herbie Hancock. Vocal soloists for the evening include Danielle Lane, Morgan Strait, Leangel Barnhart, Christina Koontz, Melanie Deneen, Jessica Lane, Noah Hykes, and Alenda Fischer.
The public is invited to attend and enjoy the efforts of these talented students. Admission to the concert is $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for students. Proceeds benefit the band and choral activity funds. Mr. Arnold, Mr. Meredith and the students wish to thank the public for its continued support.
