FR To Hold Spring Choral Concert

Forbes Road School District will present its spring choral concert on Tuesday, May 5, at 7:00 p.m. under the direction of Mrs. Donna Ankney. The program will feature the Cardinal Choir (grades 2-3), the elementary chorus (grades 4-6) and the high school chorus (grades 7-12).

The program will begin with a song sung by all groups together entitled "When We Sing," which highlights the theme for the evening.

The Cardinal Choir is made up of 19 second- and thirdgraders who have been rehearsing after school for the last month. Their performance will include: "Zip-a- dee-doo-dah," "Falling Rain," "Singin' In the Tub," and Joe Raposo's "Sing" (sing-a-song). Their accompanist is Mrs. Cynthia Robinette.

The elementary chorus selections include: "I Shall Sing" by Van Morrison, "Get on Board This Train," that combines two spirituals, Patsy Ford Simm's arrangement of "Kum Ba Yah," "Light the Torch, America," "Sing A Song Of Nonsense," and "Do Unto Others." Mrs. Robinette also accompanies this group.

The high school portion of the program will include the following pieces: "Cantar," "Pie Jesu," "Dry Bones," "Alleluia Canon," "Can You Hear" performed by the students who attended the junior high county chorus festival this year, "Send Down the Rain" featuring senior Aneshia Knepper, a girls' piece, "Lollipop," a boys' piece "Stand By Me," and "Music of My Life" composed by Daniel Meredith (choral director at Southern Fulton High School). Their accompanist is Mrs. Deborah King.

All are invited to attend. Admission is free.
