Man In Wheelchair Killed By Bus
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police and Philadelphia's transit agency are investigating a North Philadelphia bus accident that killed a man in a wheelchair.
Richard Maloney of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority says the crash happened at about 4:15 p.m. Friday. He says the man in the motorized wheelchair was crossing the street when he was struck by a westbound bus turning left.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
Maloney says the driver has been a SEPTA bus operator for 16 years.
