FCMC Employees Donate To Food Basket

Registered dietitian Cathy Snyder presents Fulton County Food Basket Director Susan Cubbage with nearly $400 raised during the center's National Nutrition Month celebration at FCMC. In celebration of National Nutrition month, FCMC employees and visitors to the facility donated cash to the Fulton County Food Basket Inc. FCMC held two events to raise funds: Nutrition Day, in which free samples of healthy food choices were handed out in the main lobby, along with displays and literature, and their second annual "Taste Off" that included the sales of a recipe book.

Fulton County Food Basket Director Susan Cubbage accepted the donation on behalf of the organization. She expressed her gratitude to FCMC, saying, "We really appreciate the Fulton County Medical Center employees supporting us. They take care of us when we're sick, and they are very compassionate about the health and wellbeing of this community."

Registered dietitian and organizer of the events, Cathy Snyder, stated, "We raised a total of $383.50. This alone will enable the Food Basket to purchase more than 1,915 pounds of food for Fulton County. We believe in helping our community and taking care of our own, especially to such a beneficial program for the residents of Fulton County. Every day I see how important food is for a person's well-being and I am happy that we can give the gift of food. "

FCMC's "Taste Off" had participating employees enter a healthy dish. Forty-seven connoisseurs taste-tested the dishes for a $1 fee and voted on the winner. This event raised a total of $77 and the winner was Amy Varner with her Strawberry Angel Food Delight.
