Garden Club Meeting North End Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday, April 28, at noon. "A Garden Tea Party" will be the theme of this month's meeting. Club members are asked to bring a fancy finger food, a teacup and wear their spring bonnet. The tea party will be held at Knobsville Methodist Church and new members are welcome to attend. Chamber Meetings Fulton County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism members are welcome to join in for lunch at the monthly membership meetings the third Wednesday of each month at 12:30 p.m., at the American Legion in McConnellsburg. A guest speaker will be featured at each meeting. Annual membership fee includes the cost of lunch for one person for the organization and a guest at an additional cost. No July and August meetings due to summer break.

Historical Society Meeting Author Burt Kummerow of Baltimore will share highlights and local stories from the new 2008 book "Pennsylvania's Forbes Trail: Gateways and Getaways along the Legendary Route from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh" at the Fulton County Historical Society meeting Friday night, April 24, at Hustontown Firehall. A few books will be available for purchase. The book commemorates 250 years of the old Forbes Trail 1758-2008 but also features 40 themed tours of enjoyable spots to visit today not far off the original trail. His talk will begin about 7:15 p.m. following the meal and brief business meeting.

PARSE Meeting Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees (PARSE) has a 9:00 a.m. breakfast meeting on the second Wednesday of every month at McConnellsburg FOVA (VFW). All retired state employees and spouses are invited to attend. For additional information, call 485-4763.

Democratic Meetings Fulton/Franklin Democratic Club meets the third Tuesday of each month in Democratic Headquarters at 7:00 p.m., 123 South Second Street, McConnellsburg. Meetings are open to the public, light refreshments are provided and all are welcome. More information may be obtained by calling 485-3386.

Town Meeting Fulton County commissioners will host a town meeting May 7 at the Lutheran Church, Big Cove Tannery, at 7:00 p.m. More information may be obtained by calling 717-485-3691.

Farm Women Convention Fulton County Society of Farm Women will celebrate 50 years with a convention May 2 at McConnellsburg Firehall. Former members are welcome to join the party. PASR Meeting Fulton County Chapter of Pennsylvania Association of School Reitrees (PASR) will conduct the chapter's spring meeting at Hustontown Firehall on Thursday, May 14, with registration at 9:00 a.m. Following the business meeting, a luncheon will be enjoyed. Reservations may be made by calling Ron Mitchell at 485-3628. All school retirees are encouraged to attend. The PASR is encouraing members to join with the Hustontown Senior Center for lunch on April 14. Donation of $2. Registration should be made by calling 987-3770.

4-H County Council/PDC Meetings The 4-H County Council and PDC meetings will be held April 26 at the Fulton Theater from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Food Handlers Workshop for Volunteers Cooking for Crowds is designed for anyone who prepares food to be served or sold through non-profit groups, fire departments, churches and community organizations. The workshop will be held April 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Fulton Theater. Cost is $10. Call the Extension Office by April 27 to reserve a spot at 485-4111.

4-H Leader Meeting The 4-H leaders will meet May 11 at the Fulton Theater, 6:30 p.m.

Christian Social Services Christian Social Services will hold a board meeting Thursday, April 30, at noon in the social room of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Legion Meeting American Legion Post 561 active members regular meeting is the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. Auxiliary members meet the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Members of both organizations are urged to attend.

Medical Center Auxiliary Meeting Fulton County Medical Center Auxiliary will meet Monday, May 4 at 10:00 a.m. in the activities room of the hospital. A bake and crafts sale has been scheduled for Friday, May 8.
